World Tour - Wale ft. Jazmine Sullivan

I heard a small clip of this song before a commercial break while watching the VMAs. (Really quickly, how much of an idiot is Kanye?)  The song is by rapper Wale who was was performing the side-show at the VMAs, and I really dug the little bit I heard.  Found the full song online tonight.  I think it can be a hit.  It’ll be released on Wale’s upcoming album Attention: Deficit on November 3rd.

All myth is true. In fact, myth is more true than reality.

So true. Except for the letters. Who writes letters anymore?

It's really frustrating

when you know you’re phone can get faster internet over 3G than the current WiFi hotspot you’re at.

(How long do you think it’s going to take to post this? 5 minutes? 10?)

You rarely see toilet seat covers (like this one at Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Del Mar) at commercial establishments. Why is that? Just unnecessary plastic? Come to think of it, why do toilet seat covers even exist, period? To keep the dust out of your toilet bowl?

AMP Radio

If you live in Los Angeles, by now you’ve probably heard/seen all the hype about AMP Radio - “Number 1 Hits Radio Station, Commercial Free Mondays, ‘I made the switch from KIIS’, etc.”

I’m not really much of a radio listener, but I tuned in to 97.1 the other day and was truly surprised to find that they actually live up to their “Fewer Commercials than KIIS” ad campaign.  In fact, I listened to the station for 25 minutes with no commercials.  I’m really a fan of this. I mean, no one likes commercials, but I think I’d rather have fewer, longer commercial breaks than more frequent, short ones (they sort of ruin the flow). Anyways, I like what AMP Radio is doing about commercials, I like what they’re playing, and I like what they’re saying. Now we just got to get them to not play the same song every 60 minutes.

In-N-Out Goes Religious?

The other day I had lunch with my mom at In-N-Out. After finishing my cheeseburger, I noticed something really interesting. On the back corner of the paper that holds the cheeseburger is some text that reads: “Revalation 3:20.”

I’m not Christian by any means, so my Bible passages are a little rusty. A quick Google search was all I needed to find out what Revalation 3 Line 20 says:

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.

How odd is that, right - putting a Bible passage on the back of a burger wrapper.  Do you think In-N-Out just wanted to reference a passage concerning food, or do you think there’s more to it?

...and dessert for the birthday girl!

...and dessert for the birthday girl!

Sidney’s birthday is just winding down now.  Her best friend Nic and I took her to The Penthouse at The Huntley Hotel for her birthday dinner.  Dinner was great, but the best part is that the restuarant is situated on the top floor of the hotel just 2 blocks from the beach. The views were amazing! I snapped a few pics of the evening. Highlights in a photo gallery above.

Stay Young at Heart?

Have you noticed that a lot of celebrities have set really old pictures as their avatars for Twitter? I was wondering what this was all about.  If I was a celeb, I wouldn’t want the world to see my high school yearbook photo, complete with braces and the like.  Why, then are celebrities like Diddy, John Mayer, and John Legend using old pictures for their avatars.

I thought perhaps it was to show that it’s actually them - so when you’re following Diddy, you’re actually following Diddy, not some 14 year-old wannabe punk.  But now Twitter has launched a new Beta service called Twitter Verified.

Basically they’re just making sure that important people are who they say they are.  And if they pass, they get a big ole checkmark  in the corner of their Twitter page.

Diddy, John Mayer, and John Legend are all Twitter Verified, so what’s with the kid pics? Maybe they just think they look cool.

On rape...

Never, I repeat, NEVER, should rape be called an unfortunate misunderstanding between a man and a woman.
